Mass in Manchester

I'm looking forward to attending Mass on Saturday with the Oratorian Community at St Chad's, in Manchester Oratory.  Mass at 11am is to celebrate the founder of the Oratorians, St Philip Neri, one of my favourite saints.  No doubt the music and liturgy will be uplifting and inspiring.  It's a joy for a priest to simply attend Mass sometimes and not have the responsibility of being the one organising its various aspects but just to be able to sit sit in choir and say your prayers, especially when you can be assured that there will be no jarring liturgical abuses!

Double take there: I thought that was a minnaret in the background but it's the tower of Strangeways prison.

You will enjoy it Father . I live in a neighbouring diocese , and fled some time ago due to the lack of reverance and jolly masses . This Lent , I started to attend St Chad's . The liturgy is beautiful , as are the music and choir . Reverance , silence and prayerfullness , with people across every demographic group of every age . Simply fantastic !!
Shame I will miss this , as I am away . Fr Ray , Fr Chris and the three Brothers deserve our support - a great community indeed .
