Birth of Her Royal Highness Princess Isabelle d'Orleans

Congratulations to HRH Prince Charles-Philippe d'Orléans, Duke of Anjou, and Princess Diana d'Orléans, Duchess of Anjou and Duchess of Cadaval. On Wednesday, February the 22nd in the afternoon afternoon was born in Lisbon Her Royal Highness Princess Isabelle d'Orleans, thier first child.

Prince Charles-Philippe d’Orléans, Duke of Anjou, is Grand-Master Émeritus of the Order of Saint Lazarus, Grand Prior of France and president of the Governing Council. He is a great friend to the Order of St Lazarus and its memebers in Great Britain and was here visiting my little parish just last year.

The name was chosen in honour of her great grandmother, Isabella, Countess of Paris, born Princess of Orleans Braganza.

In addition, February the 22nd is the day of Saint Isabelle of France (1225-1270), daughter of King of France Louis VIII and Blanche of Castile, younger sister of King Louis IX, Saint Louis, and founder of “Clarisses de Longchamp” monastery, near Paris.

Princess Isabelle of Orleans is member of the French Royal Family. She is descendant of several kings of France, of the imperial family of Brazil and of the Dukes of Bragança, Portugal's royal family. She is related to almost all the European royal families.

The Prince has a YouTube channel where you can follow some of the charity and other work he does at: http://www.youtube.com/user/leducdanjou

What a beautiful bride and Mother! What a joyous man! What great smiles!

Although they exercise no hereditay power, the people of their region seem to love them and find gladness in their beaming presense. Wonderful!
