In response to a growth in pupil numbers, St Peter's International College is seeking to appoint passionate teachers in all disciplines to join the College community in September 2023. It is important that you share our vision, are willing to push the boundaries in your approach to  teaching and learning in order to inspire our pupils from Years 7 to 13 through both academic and personal development. 

In addition to the roles below we are interested in hearing from teachers and non-teachers who are excited by the vision of Saint Peter’s and who feel that their skill or experience might support the work that we have embarked upon.

Fifth Week of the Year and Our Lady of Lourdes

This Saturday is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.

"I raised my head and looked towards the grotto. 

I saw a Lady dressed in white, 

wearing a white dress, 

a blue girdle and a yellow rose on each foot, 

the same color as the chain of her Rosary."  

In the vision Our Lady was praying the rosary. 

Let us pray especially for the sick on that day!

This week sees the Feast of St Blaise on Friday. There will be the traditional Blessing of Throats on the Vigil of His Feast at the end of Novena & Benediction on Thursday evening.

Anyone with children at our Primary School can join us at 9am on Friday, where the Blessing of Throats will also take place.

St Blaise was a Martyr for his Catholic Faith. This Sunday we will hear the Beatitudes during the Gospel. I feel that we often forget the final one:

"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

Let us pray for the many who are persecuted, in all sorts of ways, for their Catholic Faith today.

Wednesday is the Feast of the Conversion of St Paul. It marks the end of the Octave of Prayer for Christian Unity, when we pray for all Christians to be united in the one Church of God. This Octave was first conceived by an American, Father Paul of Graymoor in 1907, two years before his entrance into the Catholic Church in 1909. The Octave, as originally conceived by Father Paul, reflects the unchanging truth that there can be no real unity apart from union with that Rock, established by Christ Himself, which is Peter and his successors. For that reason, St. Peter is considered the special Patron of the Octave of Prayer for Christian Unity. It started on the feast, last week, of the Chair of St Peter. O blessed Virgin Mary, 

Mother of God and our most gentle Queen and Mother, 

look down in mercy upon England thy "Dowry" 

and upon us all who greatly hope and trust in thee. 

By thee it was that Jesus our Saviour and our hope 

was given unto the world; 

and He has given thee to us that we might hope still more. 

Plead for us thy children, 

whom thou didst receive and accept at the foot of the Cross, 

O sorrowful Mother. 

Intercede for our separated brethren, that with us in the one true fold 

they may be united to the chief Shepherd, the Vicar of thy Son. 

Pray for us all, dear Mother, that by faith fruitful in good works 

we may all deserve to see and praise God, 

together with thee, in our heavenly home.

Each year the parish holds a collection for the work of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children SPUC. We do so this Sunday, praying for our country to give full value to God's gift of life.

The season of Christmas comes to an end under the new liturgical calendar this Sunday with the Feast of the Lord's Baptism. 

Please note that as there wasn't an opportunity to offer Mass with advance notice last week before Pope Benedict XVI's funeral, Mass will be offered for him this Wednesday morning at 9.30am.
