It's cleverly spun.Damask Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12903564104733536123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4598228705498900088.post-31393474742078243822014-05-01T23:09:57.364+01:002014-05-01T23:09:57.364+01:00Father,
You do well to raise these matters.
Whil...Father,

You do well to raise these matters.

While the Offer of Peace is part of the Mass, the sign of peace is optional. And, it is not, repeat not, a handshake. A polite bow to those on either side is quite sufficient - and nothing else is required.

Relics give us a connection with the holiness of saints. Whoever rejects relics, rejects the sainthood.

As for admitting the divorced and remarried to Holy Communion, or allowing them to decide on the validity of their own marriages, that is out.

If by any chance there was to be a decision to that effect, then we would have formal Schism as profound or more so than during the Protestant Reformation – and we would all, laity, priests and bishops have to decide what side of a distinct line we would stand on – just as after the Protestant Reformation.

By the way, we don’t have “Catholic “Life in my church, and if it does turn up by any chance, it will end up in the rubbish bin.Jacobihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04743062941733814176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4598228705498900088.post-45701027565792766462014-05-01T23:06:19.745+01:002014-05-01T23:06:19.745+01:00I rather think it was called 'Novena' maga...I rather think it was called 'Novena' magazine in the dim and distant past. I gave up on it when it changed it's name because its readers (Catholics, one would suppose!) wouldn't know what it meant!Chloehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05938814790482289950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4598228705498900088.post-3875860494911579312014-05-01T23:00:06.125+01:002014-05-01T23:00:06.125+01:00Well, Fr., we give the name Lucifer to Satan...Well, Fr., we give the name Lucifer to Satan...Evagriusnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4598228705498900088.post-8629531979831739832014-05-01T19:50:43.526+01:002014-05-01T19:50:43.526+01:00Interesting. I haven't read it for a while, but it always seemed as you say quite innocuous.
I'm afraid what you cite is probably another example of dissent (or perhaps well-meaning ignorance, almost as worrying) emerging blinking into the sunlight after the 'winter' of the last two papacies.
